Winter of Warmth: A Season of Community and Care

As the winter chill sets in, it's easy to feel isolated and alone. But for those experiencing homelessness, the cold can be especially harsh. That's why the Winter of Warmth initiative is so important. This community-driven program provides a warm and welcoming space for those in need, offering essential resources and a sense of connection during the coldest months of the year.

What is Winter of Warmth?

Winter of Warmth is a series of events held on the first Saturday of December, January, and February from 12-2pm at the Asotin County Library in Clarkston, WA. Here, individuals experiencing homelessness can find:

Warmth and shelter: Escape the winter chill and enjoy a cozy environment with hot drinks and tasty snacks.

Essential supplies: Access to hygiene products and other essential items to help navigate the winter months.

Community and connection: Connect with friendly volunteers and staff who are ready to offer support and guidance.

Resource navigation: Discover local resources tailored to your needs, including food banks, shelters, and healthcare services.

Who is behind Winter of Warmth?

Winter of Warmth is a collaborative effort between the E.L.V.E.S. team, and local organizations and volunteers who are passionate about making a difference in their community. The initiative is driven by the belief that everyone deserves access to basic necessities and a sense of belonging, regardless of their circumstances.

How can you get involved?

There are many ways to support Winter of Warmth:

Volunteer your time: Donate your time to help with event setup, food preparation, or providing support to attendees.

Donate supplies: Contribute essential items such as hygiene products, warm clothing, and non-perishable food.

Spread the word: Share information about Winter of Warmth with your friends, family, and community.

Winter of Warmth is more than just an event; it's a symbol of hope and compassion. By coming together as a community, we can ensure that no one faces the winter alone. Let's join hands and make this season a truly warm one for everyone.
